After-School Activities Options
Ambassadors:

Grades: 5th Grade Only (Third Thursday of Each Month Starting in Sept.)

Description: We are proud to highlight our 5th Grade Ambassadors Program—Our Kelly Mill Ambassadors are outstanding students who exemplify our school's values and serve as role models for their peers. Being selected as an ambassador is a special honor, recognizing students for their exemplary behavior, leadership, and character. Ambassadors take on important responsibilities throughout the school, including serving on safety patrol one morning each week, assisting teachers and staff, helping in the media center, supporting our Helping Hands food program, participating in team-building activities, and volunteering at school events. These student leaders truly make a positive impact on our school community!

Chorus:

Grades: 4th - 5th (Tuesday)
Cost: $200
Dates: August - December
Description: The Kelly Mill Chorus is for 4th and 5th-grade students who enjoy singing and being part of a large musical ensemble. Members will meet new friends while singing and learning music in rounds, two-part harmonies, and executing simple choreography to accompany the music. We will perform at various events, including on the field at a Braves game (Thurs., Sept 24th, and end our season with a final concert on Thursday, December 3rd (Dress Rehearsal on the 1st). As part of this experience, students will learn more about reading music, blending voices, and how to perform for an audience. Participation in the chorus will provide students with experience that will help them develop their singing voices, prepare them for other experiences in the fine arts, and provide them with the opportunity to audition for the district-wide Honors Chorus in the spring.

Drama:

Grades: 4th/5th Grade Only (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday)
Cost: $225 (Includes Production Fees and T-shirt)
Dates: Nov. - March
Auditions: Oct. 28th - 29th
Description: KME Drama is a club that fourth and fifth-grade students may audition in October for roles in the spring musical. The 2026-2027 musical will be TBD. Once cast, students will start rehearsing in November through March on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and select Saturdays (Jan/Feb.) to learn the blocking, music, and choreography. Rehearsal days will be determined based on the roles they are casted. Students will perform on the West Forsyth High School stage on March 19th and 20th.

Description: The Kelly Mill Math Team is designed for students who are ready to stretch their thinking and take their math skills to the next level. This is more than just solving problems — it's about digging deep into complex concepts, approaching challenges from different angles, and working as a team to find creative solutions.
Members will sharpen their reasoning skills, tackle advanced math problems, and learn to communicate their ideas clearly and confidently. The team thrives on collaboration, encouraging students to support each other as they explore rich mathematical ideas together.
As part of this high-level experience, students will compete in prestigious contests like the Math Olympiad and Math League. Top-performing team members may also earn a coveted spot on the KME Pi Fight Team, where they'll face even more advanced challenges.
This is a place for students who love math, want to be challenged, and are eager to grow as thinkers and teammates.

Robotics:

Description: 4th/5th-grade students will collaboratively build and compete in robotics tournaments across the county. 3rd-grade students will have the opportunity to learn about the robotics program without participating in outside competitions.
Description: 3rd-grade students will learn to build with our robotics program and then compete in an in-house competition at the end of the semester. Meeting dates will be on Tuesdays from 2:20-3:30. Dates include Sept. 15, 22, Oct. 6, 13, 20, 27, Nov. 3, 10, 17, and Dec. 1, 8, 15.

Science Olympiad:

Description: Science Olympiad is a competition-based science activity where students will explore a variety of scientific disciplines, including biology, chemistry, earth science, physics, and engineering practices through collaborative experiments and activities. The activity meets every Friday to prepare for scrimmages and ultimately our county-wide regional competition in February. The fees associated with the club cover the cost of team shirts, competition and lunch fees, as well as the cost of materials for the year.

Description: Do you love making people smile and showing kindness to others? Then Kind Kids Club is the perfect place for you!
Join Mrs. Goldsberry for a fun-filled club where creativity meets kindness! We'll complete exciting new projects and kindness missions designed to make a positive difference in our school and community.
Club members will create meaningful gifts and decorations, such as painted canvases, banners, clay creations, friendship bracelets, door wreaths, posters, secret bookmarks, window art, and more, to brighten the days of friends, family members, teachers, and residents at local nursing homes.
The fun doesn't stop there! We'll also organize school-wide kindness scavenger hunts, surprise acts of kindness, and special challenges that inspire others to spread kindness wherever they go.
Come make new friends, get creative, and discover how even the smallest act of kindness can make a BIG difference. Together, we'll show everyone what it means to be Colts Who Care!

Description: Hello! I am so excited to start building with you all!! Mrs. Cortes will lead the Lego Masters Builders this year. Come join us to participate in fun Lego building
challenges after school! We'll supply the bricks; you bring the
imagination! Legos can help all children with the following: Improved eye/hand
coordination, development of spatial skills, persistence, and patience, enhanced fine motor
skills, problem-solving skills, achieving a sense of accomplishment, learning how to plan, and teamwork when playing with others.

Frequently Asked Questions:
- Can After-School Students Participate? A: Students who already attend the Kelly Mill After-School Program are welcome to register and join. These students will have to register and pay for this additional opportunity and after each session, they will return to the Kelly Mill After School Program.
- What if I'm late for pick-up? A: Students not picked up by 3:55 will be sent to the after-school program and charged for the day.
- Can we sign up for multiple activities? A: Yes. You may sign up for any activity as long as they don't overlap.
- How do we sign up? A: Sign-ups are located on SchoolPay.com when open.
- I have questions about an activity, who do I ask? A: Please direct your question to the specific sponsor (emails linked in the information below).
- When do we sign up? A: Sign-ups are communicated in our Colt Connection, website, and social media pages.
- Is there a minimum or maximum number required for activities? A: Yes. If the minimum number is not reached the activity will not be offered. There is a maximum number listed for each activity and registration will close for that activity once that number has been reached.
- May I get a refund? Activity sign-ups are non-refundable so we can ensure all spots are fairly allocated to students.
- My student will not be able to attend an activity day. What do I do? A: Fill out the Transportation Change form for the date of absence/change.
